BLACK WATER REDEMPTION

But it blinked too late; the deep opened up like a rusted gate.
Black water baptism, let the rot begin; cold mud rising,
Thick as a sin.
Pale hands pulling from under the skin; black water baptism,
Let it pull you in.
Let it pull you in.
When it won,
Came out blurred; the only gospel is the one I heard.
Ain't no sun,
I don't want the sky; the black water knows it don't come back dry.
