Thumb Over Send

Then a Tuesday night I found your name,
And my hands went tight.
I wrote a sentence, deleted it, wrote it new,
Thumb above the button, shaking through.
It's only a hello,
Nothing more; we both know what we did before.
If you don't answer, I'll understand,
But I'm holding my breath with my whole hand.
So I hit send and watched the words go out,
Then I stared at the screen and started to doubt.
Hey, it's me, I miss who we used to be.
Right back and say we see things start over, can't we?
Remember the fight, the door, the things we swore?
