Colors of the City

Silver rain on window glass, taxi lights are drifting past.
Midnight hums beneath the street,
Distant engines keep the beat.
A lonely bar is closing down,
Footsteps echo through the town.
I keep walking with no plan, chasing something I once had.
Breathe, breathe, let the silence fill the air.
Leave, leave, there is nothing waiting there.
Run, run, through the colors of the city.
Run, run, where the night can hide the truth.
Go, go, let the rhythm pull me under.
