No Witness but the Moon

Do not turn away.
No witness but the moon, hear my heart.
I have been lonely even when we were not apart.
If tomorrow finds me guarded again,
Say my name and call me back in.
I will not hide behind a proud man's face,
I will meet your eyes and stay in this place.
This is the truth I could not say: I need your mercy today.
Stay near me.
I am telling you now, no witness but the moon,
