Starting Today

Told myself "tomorrow,
Not today." Turns out I wasn't running out of time,
I was running out of patience with the wait.
I don't need a sign, I don't need a perfect,
I just need a move.
I'm starting today, not tomorrow, not Sunday,
Same hours as everybody else.
I'm done letting mine drift away.
Starting today, right here, right now,
This is where I finally start.
I stopped keeping score of what went wrong,
Started noticing what's still right here.
Let go of a grudge I held too long,
Made room for something clear.
I didn't know what I could really hold until I stopped standing still.
Turns out there's more in me than I gave myself credit for.
