The Watch That Lost the Hour

I let the hours die between us.
I made your patient heart grow tired.
No alibi can wind them backward.
I stand here guilty, instrict of pride.
Wind this old watch, hear me pray.
It stopped when I forgot the love I owed that day.
Wind this old watch, hear me confess.
I am asking for forgiveness with no excuse left.
Have mercy, have mercy.
If time will start, I will start there.
