I hope Heaven heard me cry.
You were more than just a name.
You were shelter from the rain.
And if the angels ask you who you're waiting for up there,
Tell them someday I'll come find you,
And you'll know me when I'm there.
Goodbye, Godmother, goodbye.
Maybe God just called you home because your work down here was done.
Maybe somewhere past these clouds,
You're standing in the sun so I won't ask Him to return you,
Though God knows I wish He would.
I'll just thank Him that He gave me a Godmother so good.
