Dandelion

Don't hold on too tight,
Don't ask the wind why; some hearts are born as flowers,
Some aren't born to fly.
Every goodbye plants a seed in the places where we grieve.
You call it losing,
I call it change; love was never made to stay the same.
If tomorrow finds my name, carried somewhere by the rain,
Know I wasn't running far; I was becoming who we are.
The wind remembers what the earth forgets.
I'm a dandelion, breaking into light,
Turning every goodbye into something bright.
