Underneath the borrowed face, I feel it moving into place.
Monsters can't pull me in; my face, your grin.
Monsters can't take control; you're the whole inside my soul.
This is not possession; this is evolution.
This is every scar building its own kingdom.
This is every failure learning how to speak; this is what survives when the man grows weak.
I fed it rage,
I fed it doubt; now it's the voice that drowns me out.
I gave it blood,
I gave it breath; now it keeps walking after my death.
